Color of the Month: Decorating with Bright Green

As I mentioned, bright green is on its way to ousting orange as my favorite color. It’s bright (obviously), cheerful, and fun, without being too much; it’s reminiscent of the green spring leaves that we’ll (hopefully) see soon.

A friend recently painted his front door and agonized over the color before finally settling on Benjamin Moore Tequila Lime. What a great choice! It livens the entire exterior of the house, kind of like this one:

That was all it took to set me off on the hunt for lime-green home decor, and decided on February’s Color of the Month!
Like all bright colors, I prefer it in small doses and/or as an accent, especially in white and neutral rooms, like this:

Of course, it can also be fun when combined with other bright colors:
I wish I had the guts to decorate an entire kitchen in fun colors!
But that’s a bit too daring for me. I still like to stay on the safe side and have fun with accessories or easily changeable decor. This kitchen strikes the perfect balance:
The green is dominant without overwhelming the room, and the wall and backsplash can be changed at a much lower cost than overhauling the cabinets or counters!
