“Veterens Day- Honoring All Who Served”

Honoring All Who Served

In November 1919, President Wilson publicly stated November 11 as the first commemorative of Veterans Day with the following words: “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day (later changed to Veterans Day) will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

Joseph Ambrose WWI VeteranVeterans Day is the one special day we have a year to focus on those who sacrificed so greatly for us. It’s a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Show your appreciation this year with a small gift for the veteran in your family. Let them know we did not forget their sacrifice and we are forever indebted.

Here are some great gift ideas from ARTERIORS HOME that our senior veterans will value and appreciate.

Truthfully their aren’t sufficient words or presents to thank our veterans for what they have done for us personally and for our country. Buying a gift is a small way to remind them that we have not forgotten their sacrifice and that we appreciate and love them for their selflessness.

  1. Such a fabulous idea I cant believe I didn’t think of it earlier. My dad is getting on in his years & I’ve been trying to think of ways to cheer him up. He is a WWII veteran & it would mean so much to him if I showed him that my children & I appreciate & understand what he did for us.

Thank you for opening up my eyes!

  2. I took you up on the idea and ordered the hammered metal container for my brother. I’ll let you know his reaction.

  3. Such a beautiful idea to give veterans day presents! It’s a holiday that has so much meaning and I feel Americans should give it more attention. I just ordered the brass lamp for my husband. I’m glad for the opportunity to show him I understand and appreciate.
