Maximize Kitchen Space with Pot Racks

Kitchens can be tricky places. If you’re lucky enough to have a large kitchen with room for everything, consider me jealous! I love kitchen gadgets and never seem to have enough storage space for all of my “stuff.”

My husband has a slight (okay, not so slight) obsession with hanging pot racks. He’s a country boy, I’m a city girl – he loves rustic kitchens and dreams of having one with wooden cabinets and counters and copper pots hanging from the ceiling, while I prefer my kitchen modern and clean-looking. Allow me to illustrate:

So designing a kitchen together may pose a bit of a problem.
At least we’ve found one fixture that we agree on: hanging pot racks!
With so many types and styles available, a hanging pot rack can fit into any kitchen, traditional, country, or modern.
Best of all, they’re the perfect double-duty pieces! Besides for storing your pots and freeing up a cabinet or two, many pot racks are lighted:

Some are lighted and decorative; you can go contemporary (with bonus storage space on top!):

Traditional:

Or even cute and kitschy:

The pot racks that I love are the modern ones (no surprise there), especially wall-mounted:

There’s one for everyone!

Now that we’ve agreed on something, we’ve got to figure out the rest of the kitchen…

What do you do to maximize your kitchen space?
