Color of the Month: Decorating with Sky Blue

Yes, of course the sky is constantly changing color, but “sky blue” – when defined – is a soft, fresh, tranquil shade. Sky blue is the perfect summer color that works for all seasons. One of Pantone’s dual Colors of the Year is Serenity, a calm, “transcendent” blue; their Fall 2016 color report features Airy Blue, a nod to Serenity and a lovely weightless sky blue.

This particular shade of blue, like most blues, is especially versatile. It complements neutrals, pastels, and brights in all hues, offsetting them naturally like the blue of the sky. Use it in large amounts and small accents, on walls and on ceilings, on floors and accessories, inside and outside.
