Bathroom Organizing (cont.)

My last post was about keeping a clutter free bathroom using a bathroom vanity. Today I’m going to discuss some additional ways to keep your bathroom spic and span at all times. The bathroom is where you start and end your day so it’s an important room to keep in good shape.

Whether a bathroom is big or small there never seems to be enough storage space. Once you get past the basics; sink, toilet, tub and shower, there is not too much space left. So, to start the organizing process you must take stock of your inventory. Sift through all your old make-up, skin products, soaps, shampoos, etc. Anything that hasn’t been used in a year is either thrown in the trash or given away. It’s the greatest feeling to unload all that junk.

Once you’re done that you can begin the real organizing. A great way to organize a room and make sure it stays that way is to set it up by how often everything is used. The most used items are stored in the easily accessible places and the less often used stuff is in the back. Seasonal things, like sunscreen and bug spray, should be stored in airtight containers in the hard to reach spaces.

Coordinating storage bins keep things contained and make everything look neater. If you are really tight with closed storage space you can even stack pretty bins in a corner of the bathroom. A neat decorating idea is to store toiletries such as Q-Tips and cotton balls in apothecary jars that can be left on your vanity counter or window ledge.

Whichever ways you choose to organize your bathroom keep in mind that it is a very important room. Play around till you find something that works for you and the people you share your bathroom with. Have fun organizing and PLEASE share with us any good tips you have and what works for you.

Good luck!
